Who Does Pilates?
The Pilates Method is utilized by professional athletes to gain a competitive edge, by professional dancers to improve techinque, by fitness enthusiasts to engage in a refreshing form of exercise, as well as by individuals just getting into shape.
The Pilates Method also integrates into rehabilitative exercise programs to speed recovery from soft tissue injuries and to help aid in relief from chronic pain.
The Pilates Method can be safely used by anyone regardless of his or her current fitness level.
Because conditioning sessions are closely supervised, working one on one with an instructor, sessions are designed to an individual's specific needs.

Pilates reminds me to breathe. In the stress and madness of a typical day our bodies tense up, become rigid, we forget to move, and our minds are on overload with multi-tasking and the fragmentation of everyday life. During the Pilates workout my mind is calm, my body is working, breath comes in and out, filling my lungs deep into my back. Breath is exhaled. I feel cleansed.

I have been taking Pilates for 6 years. I am 48 and Pilates has truly helped me stay fit and I enjoy practicing it. I was taking classes at another premier studio but changed to Excel Pilates Annapolis for the last year. The studio's only focus is Pilates. I have found the instructors highly knowledgeable & trained, flexible working with different learning styles, respectful of clients physical needs, professional, very friendly, and fun. They have helped me to greatly improve and fine tune my form. They are wonderful to work with.
